Job Description
Abundio Energy Inc. is seeking a technically skilled and solutions-oriented Senior Solar PV Designer to streamline solar permitting and installation. This Senior Designer is responsible for the development & maintenance of design processes, tools, and procedures to meet structural and electrical compliance for PV projects and is an integral part of training & developing our project engineers’ AutoCad & design capabilities. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CAD drafting, understand solar hardware, and have a proclivity and desire to teach and train others.
Responsibilities
- Oversee design throughput, quality, and customer satisfaction to meet Business Goals and Outcomes.
- Create and manage CAD templates tailored for solar PV system design.
- Develop & Maintain design processes, tools & procedures to comply with regulations, target timelines, and customer satisfaction.
- Be a Design subject matter expert that collaborates with software, business development, and products to innovate solar solutions.
- Train project engineers on AutoCAD drafting techniques and solar hardware equipment (racking, inverters, batteries, etc.).
- Collaborate with our products team to automate engineered plansets.
- Work closely with licensed engineers for permitted installation deliverables.

Experience (Must-Have)
- 1+ years of solar industry design experience.
- Capability to train team members.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code.
- Aurora, or CAD software experience.
Experience (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with site survey collection and processes.
- Experience with permitting for PV installation.
Employment Details
- Location: Available remotely during USA night-shift (PST 11pm to 7am).
- Schedule: Must be available Monday through Friday for training and collaborating with staff.
- Contract: Professional Contract with a monthly rate based on availability & experience.
